Map

This event uses a section of the Fish Creek Provincial Park map around the Bebo Grove area, heavily updated by Jeff Teutsch in Spring 2016.  The area between the parking lot and Fish Creek to the south and east has been comprehensively remapped.  The rest has been updated as much as possible, given time constraints.

With the exception of a couple of small areas at the outside of the map, trails have all been updated.  Note that because of the density of the trail network some indistinct trails have been mapped as distinct in order to show their shape and where they do and do not intersect with other paths.  Indistinct junctions are shown by trails that do not quite connect.

With a few exceptions, contour features have been updated to show only those features that are significant to navigation.  Smaller features that were on the original map have been removed.  Water and rock features have been similarly updated.

Special Symbols:

  • Picnic areas with one or more picnic tables close together are drawn with a small black circle
  • Large wooden lean-tos and forts have been drawn with the black x symbol.  Smaller lean-tos and forts are not mapped
  • Large (1.5m+) root stocks have been mapped.  Smaller or less significant root stocks have not been mapped
