Map: Shaganappi Park

Thank you Kimberly for organizing a great event. Watching the competitors on the home stretch, crossing the bridge and coming up the final hill with spectators cheering them on was fun to be a part of.

Many thanks go out to the large # of volunteers that helped out.

First David thank you for being the controller and helping Kimberly successfully complete her first event as course planner and event director.

Bob M, Clarence K, Gabrielle S, Susan G, Justin P, Marsha F, Ben M, Josephna I, Tim M, for setup and takedown, registration, welcome ambassador, course fixer and map explainer.

Don B, Oleg T, Paul C, Ben M control pickup.

I hope I did not miss anyone.

See you all next week at River Park.

This will be a unique event with longer courses using BOTH the Shaganappi Park map (1:4000 ISSOM sprint map) and the Lawrey Gardens map (1:7500 ISOM standard map). Edworthy Park has some amazing features at the east end (Lawrey Gardens) with lots of elevation changes and trails throughout the hillside. Route choices are fun; either run on the hill hoping your trail meet up or run back to the Douglas Trail for a beautiful trail run, you choose. All Intermediate and Advanced Courses have a 1.1 km run over from Shaganappi Park and over the Bow Trail Pedestrian Bridge.

Registration / Start / Finish is beside the Shaganappi Community Centre at the SE corner of Shaganappi Park (see map below) on the corner of 14 Ave. and 24 St. SW. There are no public washrooms on site.

There is only street parking available at this park. Please be courteous to local residents by parking ONLY on the park (north) side of the street. Additional parking (after 5pm) is at Alexander Ferguson School on the corner of 14 Ave. and 25a St. SW. Note that many streets in this neighbourhood are resident permit-only parking, so watch the signage.

Don't forget your whistle and bug spray!
