Map: North Glenmore Park and Lakeview

Thanks Mark, Bogi, Karin, and all the volunteers who helped out with the gear and the BBQ!

Great to see everyone out celebrating the end of a great summer season.

Stay tuned for our low-key and social TNT events after a short break.

Last WEO and Club BBQ

NOTE earlier start time! Join us for the last WEO of the season and a fun social / BBQ at North Glenmore Park.

Three courses in a butterfly style will be offered: 2 loops, 3 loops, and 4 loops with lengths 1.5km, 2.2km, and 3.3km. They are set to be short and fun so you should see lots of people running in random directions. Each loop begins and ends at the same control for all courses. (so the 4 loop course visits it five times!, 3 loop four times, and 2 loop three times)

The terrain is flat and easy running/walking with no road crossings. Start and Finish will be near the playground and tennis courts at Parking lot D.

Bogi is hosting our last event and the barbeque. Come for the run and stay for the food. Just come for the BBQ if you can't make it to the WEO:)

There will be a very limited number of special AOA 50th anniversary mugs for sale!!! Bring $10 cash! First come first served!

Wednesday Evening Orienteering (WEO) Event

  • Regular orienteering on Wednesday evenings - this means in-person with control flags and SI units in the terrain from 6:30-8pm on the day of the event.
  • At this point we are anticipating 20 events but this number is dependent on volunteer course planners.
  • You will need an SI stick; you can borrow one from the club on the night of the event if you do not own one.
  • You will have to pre-register for the events.
  • The last day to register for each Wednesday event is the Monday evening before it to guarantee we have a map printed for you.
  • You will need to be a 2024 member of Foothills Orienteering (FWOC), a 2024 member of another Canadian orienteering club, or pay the non-member event fee.
  • We will be using Maprun so, if you registered for the event, you can run anytime if you do not want to run on the evening of the event.
  • There will be about 20 Wednesday Orienteering Evenings in the series.
