Bow Valley Camp Chief Hector YMCA_Ti-Jurabi-Chubi 2011-09-09 UTM11N

Eastern map updates June 2023 TM: some paths made less distinct. Paths used by horses or hikers are distinct, others are hard to see. Forest is in good shape although some areas of pine beetle kill have resulted in a lot of unmapped deadfall resulting in very slow running in those areas.

The map of many names...

  • Bow Valley Provincial Park South
  • Rafter Six (now defunct and called Star 6 Ranch which removed the lodge building and access from the end of the old Rafter 6 road).
  • Ti-Jurabi-Chubi (refers to the remains of the Stoney-Nakoda ceremonial lodges in a portion of the map)

and

  • Camp Chief Hector / Rocky Mountain YMCA

"Orienteering activity is not permitted in Bow Valley Provincial Park or Bow Valley Wildland Provincial Park between April 15 and July 1 due to wildlife concerns."

"Course markings are not to be placed more than 24 hours in advance of the activity and must be removed within 24 hours after the activity."

"Sensitive areas in Bow Valley Provincial Park, including Middle Lake, Many Springs, the wetland which lies east of Bow Valley Campground and borders the north park boundary [on the other Bow Valley North Map], and the area around the pond in Bow Valley South must be avoided [this map]."
